Refund Policy

This policy explains when and how you can get your $7 back. We've kept it short.

Automatic refunds

Because our system drafts and checks your letter before taking payment, you are only charged when we can produce a letter for you. If our AI declines your appeal, you see the reason and pay nothing.

You get an automatic refund — no email needed — when:

  • A system error after payment prevents your letter from reaching you. If something breaks on our end after you've paid and we can't deliver the letter to your email, you get refunded.
  • A service we depend on for delivery goes down after you've paid. If our email provider or another service we rely on for delivery becomes unavailable after payment and we can't complete your order, you get refunded.

Automatic refunds appear back on your card within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank.

Case-by-case refunds

We also consider refunds case-by-case when:

  • You changed your mind shortly after paying
  • The letter has factual errors you couldn't fix
  • You're unhappy with the letter for another reason we haven't anticipated

To request one of these, email support@parkappeal.nz with:

  • The email address you used to pay
  • The ticket number on your infringement notice
  • A brief explanation of why you're asking for a refund

We aim to respond within 2 working days.

What we can't refund

  • After WCC has rejected your appeal. The outcome of your appeal is between you and WCC. We drafted a letter; what WCC decides is not something we control.
  • A "do-over" with different facts. If you used the letter and want to redraft with new information, that's a new appeal — start fresh through the wizard.
  • The original parking fine. ParkAppeal is a $7 service. The fine itself is owed to WCC; we don't pay it on your behalf and can't refund what we never received.

How refunds work

We refund to your original payment method through Stripe. You don't need to provide bank details. Once we process the refund:

  • It usually takes 5–10 working days to appear back on your card
  • Some banks are faster; some are slower
  • If 10 working days pass and you haven't seen it, email us and we'll check what's happened
